A Message from Surab M. Deb, CEO and Founder of The Shanti Agency

Several years ago, I was working as a DJ and promoter in the Detroit, Michigan area in the United States. I was having fun (and making some money) hosting events for the South Asian community. I had fun meeting fellow South Asians, many of whom were artists themselves. I met some owners of entertainment companies at some of these gatherings and ended up organizing a couple of events for them.
Eventually, it dawned on me: what if I could expand these meetings I was hosting into an online community? That’s when The Shanti Agency was born.
Derived from the Sanskrit, Shanti is a Hindi word meaning ‘inner peace’. Starting this agency and website has been a dream of mine, and a step on my own journey. I hope that participating as an entertainment professional on this site will help you to achieve your dreams and, ultimately, your own inner peace.
